Winter escape to the hut…
Matt, Graham and Justin made a last minute break for the hut with the promise of nice high pressure to fend off the damp weather coming off the atlantic.
Saturday met all of our expectations – waking to a crisp morning, stunning sunrise and blue sky we decided to stay around Tremadog as it was Justin’s first visit for a number of years… and his first trip to the hut!
Following an abortive, verglass inhibited attempt at accessing the cliffs across the bolder field and fearing the climb had the same in store, we made a beeline for Bramble Buttress which was worth it just for the views on the approach… and it also remains one of our favourite VDiffs in the area.

Poor Man’s Peutery (S) offered some slippery entertainment in the afternoon beneath blue sky.

Rounding off the day with a few pints, bar meal and a stumble back to the hut was a perfect end.
We were not hopeful for such a glorious day on Sunday, rain at all levels enticed us back to the Midlands following a spot of gear browsing in Betws-Y-Coed.
